Yonsei-Based Scientific Foundation

ApreNet's scientific foundation is supported by Kyungsoo Park, MD, PhD's academic work within the Yonsei environment in electronic health record (EHR)-based real-world data (RWD) methodology, oncology real- world evidence generation, pharmacometrics, and model-informed drug development.

ApreNet's collaborative research model is designed to support scientific credibility, institutional alignment, and responsible collaboration with external partners. Governance principles include: Prof. Park leads a Yonsei-based institutional RWD drug development initiative, currently referred to as Office of RWD Drug Development, to facilitate oncology RWD collaborations with global industry partners.

This initiative supports structured, research-oriented use of electronic health record data for oncology RWD research and academic–industry collaboration, while maintaining a clear distinction between ApreNet's company-level activities and institution-governed research activities.

Where Yonsei- or Severance-origin data are used in research projects, data access and handling are managed under applicable institutional governance, ethics approvals, contracts, data-use requirements, hospital-level policies, and relevant regulations.

Governance principles include:

  • Research activities conducted under appropriate institutional procedures
  • Data access and handling managed under site-level governance and ethics review
  • Project-specific documentation maintained according to the scope of each study
  • Data standardization, issue tracking, quality control, and communication handled at the project level
  • External collaborations structured through project-specific approval and contracting processes

ApreNet operates as an independent company while working with academic and clinical institutions through project-specific collaborations. ApreNet does not own or directly control hospital-origin EHR data. Its role is focused on research question refinement, study design, data standardization strategy, analysis planning, project-level coordination, quality review, and sponsor-facing scientific communication, where applicable.
